Job Description

We’re seeking an experienced (10+ years) & a highly seasoned Digital Marketing Manager with outstanding leadership skills, exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), outstanding SEO skills (on-page & off-page SEO), content building/social media skills (engagement) and people management skills – to strategically lead our marketing team. This position is ultimately accountable for developing, implementing, executing, tracking & optimizing plans aimed towards maintaining and improving traffic & organic search visibility of our web properties/portals. The ideal candidate will be goal oriented, possess exceptional attention to detail, and have outstanding interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be responsible to drive our overall goal of increasing site traffic and revenue through strategic research, outreach strategies, content planning, link building and execution of these campaigns while maintaining a positive ROI and adherence to quality guidelines by search engines.

This candidate must breathe digital marketing and specifically demonstrate very deep understanding of SEO and Social Media. If you understand that search goes beyond keywords, rankings and links; can speak about content strategy on the fly — and have a track record of successfully executing large SEO & Social Media campaigns (driving monthly traffic in excess of 500K or social engagement for at least 200K followers — we want to talk to you. The candidate is required to possess outstanding command on the English language (vocabulary, reading, writing & speaking) – since s/he will need to drive communications with our link partners in the UK/USA and also assume responsibility of enhancing the communication processes of his/her team of SEO Specialists and team leaders. This individual will also be responsible for periodic analysis of our key competitors and briefing the senior management of patterns/trends that would allow us to stay ahead of the curve. This candidate will report to the CEO; and have about 3 team leaders as direct reports.

Responsibilities

Design, direct & manage SEO processes, content strategies & link building outreach campaigns.
Develop relationships with key influencers on Social Media & potential link partners.
Plan and execute all web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns.
Develop plans to maintain and optimize our organic search visibility & social media presence.
Reverse engineer & analyze competitor SEO activities and identify opportunities for capturing market share via link building outreach.
Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs).
Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights.
Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies around improving response & conversation rates for outreach.
Establish and institute an enterprise/brand-level SEO measurement framework.
Lead an effort to improve communication quality with our international channel partners and create training programs for the same.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize user experience & content strategy/quality.
Manage & grow our network of global freelancers to increase content quality, turnaround time and control costs.
Utilize strong analytical ability to evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
Manage multiple workstream execution of marketing initiatives, measure ROI/market share and present progress to senior management.
Collaborate with international agencies and other vendor partners.
Evaluate emerging marketing practices, changing SEO landscape & link building methodologies + provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
Manage a team of 3-4 SEO Team Leaders and be accountable for the weekly/monthly delivery of their established goals.
Model the way for our SEO team by demonstrating how to implement an established SEO strategy by “rolling up the sleeve” and actually executing it.
Support program implementation by crafting project schedules, functional specifications, creating campaign flowcharts, and Q/A documentation to ensure project needs are being met, deliverables are clear, and quality is high.

Requirements and Primary Skills

Bachelor’s degree preferred in computers, business, marketing, communications or related field of study. MBA in Marketing highly preferred.
Minimum of ten (10) years of professional/corporate experience as a Digital Marketing Manager & demonstrated expertise with SEO/link building related area of work.
Outstanding communication skills (verbal & written) with a rich English vocabulary usage.
Demonstrated ability to utilize English language for persuasive & engaging communication with no grammatical errors.
A creative and strategic problem-solver; who is crazy about detail and have the ability to operate effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
A sophisticated understanding of organic search and content marketing.
Excellent Team building, mentoring and people management skills.
The capacity to clearly articulate thinking and adapt presentations for a range of audiences.
A deep familiarity with Google (and Bing’s) search services and analytical platforms.
Demonstrated experience using SEO analysis/research tools like AHREFs, Magestic, SEOmoz, or similar tools.
Sound understanding of search engine algorithms and updates such as Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird core search technology – for regular sites, mobile sites and apps.
Web analytics experience with knowledge of analytical tools such as Google Analytics & Google Webmaster Tools.
Self-motivated, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Basic knowledge/understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript & technical recommendations.
Demonstrated ability to drive results through strategic planning and execution while engaging internal & external resources optimally.

Preferred Skills

Prior experience designing & executing large scale SEO campaigns for a UK or US based enterprise client (average traffic >3,00,000/mo).
Prior experience getting page 1 rankings on Google, Yahoo and Bing.
Prior experience in managing link cleansing (bad links removal) campaigns.
Prior experience or a successful track record of leveraging personal network to make connections with key influencers via social media, email or phone.
